You’ll be able to sit, relax and enjoy the constantly changing scenery. Visit vineyards and villages, and enjoy authentic, sumptuous meals and fine wine. Barges move at a slow pace, allowing passengers to go ashore to walk or cycle along the towpath, and then rejoin the barge further down, at a later point.

Your trip begins mid-day in Paris where you board the TGV (high speed) Train for Lyons.  In Lyons your deluxe barge is moored in the center of the city and you’ll be greeted with a champagne reception when you board.  What a wonderful way to begin this exciting vacation!

During your deluxe barge cruise vacation you’ll not only get to soak in the scenery at a relaxing pace, you’ll also get the opportunity to explore the ancient Renaissance district of Lyons on a guided walking tour, have a private tour and tasting at a spectacular winery in Macon (near the heart of the Beaujolais district), tour the busy market town of Chalone sur Saone and visit the Photography Museum (Chalone sur Saone claims to be the birthplace of photography), and visit the 15th Century Hospice de Beaune.  Plus, you’ll visit famous Dijon, the capital of Burgundy.  In Dijon you’ll have a guided tour of the principal historic sights and have plenty of time to explore the quaint shops and restaurants on your own.

St Jean de Losne is the final destination, and on your last morning you’ll disembark from your deluxe barge and transfer to a TGV that will speed you back to Paris.
